Amazon Brand Registry

Also known as: Brand Registry

Amazon Brand Registry is a program that gives enrolled brand owners tools to protect trademarks, manage listings, and report infringement on Amazon. Enrollment requires a pending or registered trademark and verified brand representation. It is often central to IP retractions, listing control disputes, and Project Zero workflows.

Why it matters

Brand Registry shifts IP enforcement power toward rights owners who can report listings without buyer complaints. Enrolled brands also gain stronger control over catalog content and access to transparency programs. Sellers defending unauthorized allegations often need cooperation from the registered brand or proof of an authorized chain. Retraction requests through Brand Registry can resolve trademark and counterfeit cases faster than document-only appeals. Know whether your supplier relationship includes written authorization before listing branded inventory. Enrolled brands should monitor Report a Violation queues weekly to catch hijackers early. Register eligible marks before expanding to new marketplaces to lock catalog control early. Document every authorized reseller agreement in a central compliance folder.

Example

A reseller receives a trademark complaint from a brand enrolled in Brand Registry. After confirming distributor status, the brand owner retracts the report and the listing is restored without a lengthy POA cycle. The seller archives the authorization letter for future catalog audits.
